I was looking for a sad childhood story on the web (yeah right) and found this site:

I thought that this would be a site about friends shooting your mother! Imagine my surprise then, when I discovered it is a porn site about older ladies! www.MyFriendsHotMom.com.

Just kidding! I knew what it was; just thought it was funny how that name can mean 2 different things. I had a link to a whole list of similarly named sites on this blog once; now if only I can find it

 

Stopped twice for coffee this morning.

How incompetent do you have to be before you can fuck up a simple coffee order!

This morning I had to stop twice to pick up coffee on my way in to work since at the first place, the guy fucked up my order – he added sugar! And nothing sets me off like when my morning coffee is messed up!

They bring in their relatives, some of whom can’t even understand what you are saying, and but them on the front counter.

I guess I should start tasting the crap before I leave the shop.

Just in time

Over the past many months, I have begun to be more away of how things or solutions or stuff happends to be available just in the nick of time; right about when I need it. This is espically so with technology.

For instance, yesterday evening, I was in a book shop and saw “Programming Ruby, The Pragmatic Programmer’s Guide”. I was tempted to buy it but for some reason, didn’t. Today I was looking to solve a very specific problem and I found someone had posted a ruby script to for this. Thus I needed to install Ruby, and got the onc-click Windows install, which is free and comes bundled with, you guessed it, “Programming Ruby, The Pragmatic Programmer’s Guide”.

I have a list somewhere of other such instances; if I dig it up, I will post an update to this.

Flameware, Indian-style

Growing up, my mom and grandma always had a fondness for watching Indian movies. One of the things I always found hilarious about these movies were their fight scenes – for some reason, I could never take them very seriously, as they always seemed so over-dramatized. Thus it only makes sense, I suppose, that I would find the following email exchange to be beyond funny … I consider it to be the 2005, Indian version of “All Your Base” – with a dash of Office Space thrown in for good measure.

Sixth, Reference Notice – None below gave a proper 30 days notice as
they and including you are not ethical people from good families…You

Finally, just the way you don’t understand what the client is asking for
and deliver builds like a “Dehath” before opening your month that sticks

honest and I have every bludy right to complain.

Meat-eaters in India

Strict vegetarians will eat a cake with egg in it but will recoil from a fried egg. Experimenting vegetarians will eat a meat kebab or mutton curry but not a meat piece. I don’t particularly like the word ‘flesh’ in the title; flesh is too close to human and zombie. Either the author is making a sublimial statement or I’ve been watching too many horror flicks.

Using Flock

Just thought I’ld mention that I’ve been using Flock for the past couple of days to post to this blog. If they nail this, I don’t think I will need a local blog writing application, as good as Blogjet, Qumana and all the rest are.
